Summary/Abstract: Entrepreneurship is widely recognized as a key factor in socio-economic development and a factor which determine the satisfaction of growing social needs and the development of countries and regions. The very concept of entrepreneurship is an ambiguous and multidimensional category containing many dimensions. The phenomenon of family entrepreneurship is the oldest known form of entrepreneurship as well as an interesting subject of research in many fields of science. Due to its complexity and multifaceted nature, this issue is important in the area of entrepreneurship studies. The participation of the family at the stage of creating and managing the business creates a number of specific conditions that allow to distinguish this problem in the general theory of entrepreneurship. The article presents an analysis of the role of the family and relationships between the business and the owning family and their influence on the creation and development of the family business.
