Summary/Abstract: The identification of potential entrepreneurial opportunities arising from technological developments, and the exploitation of these opportunities through the successful commercialization of innovative products by technology start-ups is an important subject of scientific discussion. An essential element of this process is an effective cooperation between research institutions, research and development centers, capital market institutions, business-related sphere and enterprises in order to diffuse knowledge into commercial solutions regarding technological innovations. The scientific purpose of the study is an attempted synthesis of the interpretation of ‘technological entrepreneurship’ in foreign and Polish literature. The cognitive purpose is the identification and qualitative analysis of factors that determine the development of technological entrepreneurship in real conditions. To achieve the purpose of the paper direct interviews and expert consultations with the owners of three technology start-ups has been conducted. A multiple-case study approach have been used to explore how the studied phenomenon develops in technology-based ventures. The research results reveal the existence of interdependencies between intellectual potential of technology start-ups and business ecosystem in developing of technological entrepreneurship. The article is of an analytical-conceptual character and can constitute a contribution to the discussion on the issues and as the starting point for deeper empirical research.
