Summary/Abstract: In Poland, since the transformation, there has been an increase in the number of women entrepreneurs starting their own businesses. In addition to the change in the system, it seems that the information society era is as strong in this undertaking as it is in this endeavor. Against this background, the purpose of this paper is an analysis of women entrepreneurship in the commerce activity due to process of the creating and undertaking the business. The main research questions are: how women find their own professional way in the era of information technology development? How women were treated in comparison to men in past and today? Are the opportunities created by the information age supported women’s entrepreneurship? For the above questions, the authors will try to answer using literature data, historical information, using comparative analysis and presenting a case study of female entrepreneurship - on the example of commercial activity - the creation and running of a new venture.
