Summary/Abstract: The application of the Circular Economy (CE) in enterprises should affect their level of competitiveness and innovativeness. The Circular Economy itself assumes that products do not necessarily have to be quickly converted into waste but can be reused to extract their maximum value in subsequent production processes. It is now estimated that improving resource efficiency along the entire value chain of European Union companies can reduce the demand for raw materials from 17% to 24% by 2030. Unfortunately, this will not be possible without close cooperation between R & D institutions and companies to develop new technology in manufacturing and new, capable of replacing the currently used, raw materials with increased susceptibility to recycling. Such a business model would contribute primarily to changing the stereotypes of implementing on market not only new models of existing products, but caused increase numbers of real innovations bringing on market including implementation of innovations in the business model itself.
