Summary/Abstract: For a long time business owners have tried to do a lot of to persuade customers to increase consumption by contributing to the increase in sales revenue. This situation will unfortunately change with the implementation of the paradigm of the circular economy (CE). In this case, the pressure force will be transferred from the consumption and linear model: to produce – buy – use − and discard the circular model: to manufacture – use – repair - and use again. Unfortunately, it seems that not only consumers are not ready for this situation, but also the companies whose business models are firmly embedded in the models of linear economy. The aim of the paper is to draw attention to the problem of applying the CE paradigm in the conditions of Polish small and medium enterprises in the light of conducted research and general statistical data.
