Bulgarian organizations in France: changes, problems, and challenges

Summary/Abstract: As a result of the democratic changes in Bulgaria at the end of 20th c., numerous organizations of Bulgarians in France appear. In some of them, French people, friend of Bulgaria, occupy key positions. The Bulgarian community sees a relative growth in numbers, but there is a quick growth in the number of organizations. Those are small structures, which rely on practices, initiatives, and support. Each of them searches for and holds its identity. We can talk about organizations of Bulgarians and of friends of Bulgaria in France. The interaction between the structures turns out to be more of problem than a solution, but how can it become an impulse for com¬mon initiatives as well?
