Summary/Abstract: The Bulgarian community in Spain is a relatively small at the start of democratic transition in Bulgaria. At the beginning of 21st c., the interest of Bulgarians to travel to Spain increased sharply. In the biggest cities and provinces, where a few thousand Bulgarians reside, there are numerous organizations of Bulgarian people (Madrid, Valencia, Cataluña, Castilla y Leon). They engage mainly in cultural and educational projects. The organi¬zations are independent structures: they are not administered, not controlled by the Bulgarian government. The Bulgarian specialized administration sees in them a partner for a joint actions and initiatives. The organizations repre¬sent and popularize the Bulgarian culture, spiritually and folklore
