Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of 2016, the electronic version of the Dictionary of Czech Dialects was made public on the webpages of the Czech Academy of Sciences’ Czech Language Institute. Covering the vocabulary of all the dialects of Czech, it is the first lexicographical work developed by Brno’s dialectology department. So far, the entries beginning with letters A–C have been made public. This dictionary is based on an extensive and continuously updated database of material. Being non-differential, the dictionary records not only the vocabulary proper to dialects (e.g. bulínek “remains of dough”, bezkrýtka “flower pot”, beran “ox-eye daisy”), but also expressions identical with the standard language that are the base of derivatives or multiword expressions. In particular, the dictionary deals with appellative vocabulary.
