Summary/Abstract: Gentrification is more often mentioned among the processes transforming the contemporary city. The term denotes a series of social and economic transformations, occurring in neglected urban areas due to the influx of new residents with a high socio-economic status. The article focuses on the coexistence of gentrification and the phenomenon of crime.
