Summary/Abstract: The objective of the research is to fill in the gap in the literature concerning inequalities in health needs through an empirical study of concentration of unmet health needs depending on the level of education or income. The following research hypothesis was formulated when planning the research: H1: inequality of unmet health needs, depending on education or income increased in the studied period in some social groups. Indexes of special concentration were used to verify the research hypothesis, which according to the division, take into account, as an element of the construction of the measure of the share of individual countries of the so-called new EU in the level of unmet health needs in the total value of the examined variable, i.e. Hannah-Kay, Rosenbluth/Hall-Tideman, Entropy, index, Ginicoefficient. The research sample includes the following countries of the new EU: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, in the years 2007–2015. Survey data obtained from the EuropeanHealth Interview Survey (EHIS) have been analyzed. Within the studied period, in the years 2007–2015, concentration increased for all variables in all the social groups, which is connected with growing inequalities among countries in unmeeting health needs.
