Summary/Abstract: The material includes a wide range of the opinions of the leading in-telligentsia researchers on the problems of history, development, the place and the role of Inter-University scientific centers. The Round table was or-ganized by the Prof. E. M. Raskatova and was held in the editorial office of «Intelligentsia i mir» journal. The well-known researchers of the intelligent-sia genesis, formation, development, and activities participated in the Round table. The Prof. V. S. Memetov’s contribution to the intelligentsia studies development was emphasized
