Summary/Abstract: Opinions of students about the problem of relationship between intel-ligentsia and the people in historical retrospective in different periods of Rus-sia: their thoughts about what «intelligentsia» and «people» are, how they are different and how one group of population depends on the other one – are shown. The discussion shows opinions of students about aims and targets which Russian intelligentsia had and how the people reacted to its ideas in different periods
