Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the material about the pronunciation and distribution of five vow els and sonants with a vowel function: r, l, n, and nj. Vowel reduction, vowel substitution and non-standard vowel articulation are typical for these, speeches as, other western Ser bian speeches. Pronunciation of vowels e and o after the accented syllable and the reduc tions of the vowel i in medial and final position are distinctive features of these speech es. The distribution of sonants with a vowel function is much more widespread than in the standard language.
