Parish Library at Minor Basilica of Vincent à Paulo in Bydgoszcz

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to discuss the activity of the library of St. Wincenty à Paulo parish in Bydgoszcz. At first, the outline of the current situation of parish libraries in Poland has been presented. Afterwards, the history of the parish and the library (including its keepers) has been described. In addition, library housing conditions, collections, as well as the activities related to the acquisition, cataloguing and collection circulation have been presented. Particular attention was paid to the problems the library has to deal with. An attempt was also made to characterize the readers and the level of readership.
