Summary/Abstract: The work deals with the development of control system and monitoring of steam boiler operation parameters using a programmable controller. The basic assumption of the project was its didactic usefulness. Hence the idea to present the possibility of automation of the system on an existing laboratory stand – with easy accessibility and visibility of constituent elements. The second preliminary assumption was to achieve the highest possible level of automation of the designed system. The system has been developed for the LOGO! programmable controller by Siemens, using the free LOGO! Soft Comfort environment, allowing, among other things, for an easy simulation of designed control systems, which is especially important in the didactic context.
