Summary/Abstract: The paper’s goal is to analyse selected interpretations of the phenomenon known as ‘nesting’, meaning young adults choosing to continue to live for an increasingly long time with their parents—as is happening in many European countries, including Poland. The paper attempts to see beyond matters of interconnections between migration and nesting, often perceived dichotomously as extreme alternatives for ‘a better life’. The matter is considered in an interdisciplinary manner, naturally covering sociological perspectives, yet with recognition of economy, psychology and philosophy as well. The question about the key tasks that today’s young adults have today with the challenges they face in a world changing at an unprecedented pace, together with reflection on the strategies they adopt to cope with the said challenges, comprise the crux of the article.
