Focus on Prof. Marin Drinov’s private library collection preserved in the National Library of Bulgaria “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”

Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article are the printed books in the private library collection of Prof. Marin Stepanovich Drinov (20.Х.1838–13.ІІІ.1906) that have been preserved in the National Library of Bulgaria “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” since 1910 and were catalogued four years later. The only trace left today to reveal the content of Prof. Drinov’s personal library is the bibliographical information given by this printed catalogue published back in 1914. What is known about the location of the books so far is that they were scattered in different depositories of the National Library long ago, probably because of the lack of space. The publication contains biographical notes, an overview of historical events related to the development of the library collection, its printed catalogue and the searching methods used to track the books, as well as some proposals for further exploration of the subject.
