Analysis of Objectives of Science Curriculum According to the Webb's Depth of Knowledge Levels

Summary/Abstract: Aim of this study is to analyse objectives of science curriculum (3, 4, 5,6, 7 and 8. grades) which has been applied from 2018-2019 academic year according to the according to the Webb's Depth of Knowledge Levels. There are 7 units for each of the 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. grades. There are 36 objectives for 3rd grade,43 objectives for 4th grade, 36 objectives for 5th grade, 59 objectives for 6th grade, 67 objectives for 7th grade and 61 objectives for 8th grade and 302 objectives in total. The objectives were investigated by using document analysis.These objectives have been analysed by using according to the Webb's Depth of Knowledge Levels which are recall/reproduction, skills/concepts, short-term strategic thinking and extended thinking. As a result of the analysis,most of the objective of science curriculum are level of the knowledge/concepts which is second level of the Webb’s depth of knowledge levels.
