PROTECTING DEMOCRATIC VALUES AND PROMOTING NATIONAL INTERESTS IN PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES TO ENSURE THE NATIONAL AND REGIONAL SECURITY

Summary/Abstract: As a democratic state, Romania has to protect and ensure respect for the basic values of democracy: freedom, justice and equality before the law, tolerance, transparency, equal opportunities, fair competition, equal rights, freedom of expression and so forth. Ensuring respect for democratic values listed above is a Romanian state responsibility, exercised through institutions and persons empowered for that purpose by democratic vote. It is not easy to implement this imperative of democracy in any state in this world. But states are trying to put it into practice by a strong and sustainable construction.
