ARTISTIC FEATURES OF THE NOVEL «BANNER-BEARERS»

Summary/Abstract: The study of the phenomenon of lyricism in the novel "Banner-Bearers" by O. Honchar takes place together with the study of the functioning of the concept of "social myth". The artist depicts the vision of the war without departing from the socialist realist canon, but the means of lyricism, in particular the motive of love, the usage of symbolic images (Ukrainian song, wreath, towel, nightingale, snowball tree, etc.), deepening into the inner world of characters, attention to feelings and reflections, landscapes and portraits, an appeal to folk-poetic traditions, the reception of contrast, which is reflected in the text (problems of life and death, love and war, the opposition of lyrical landscapes and the timeline of the war, lyricism of the Ukrainian song and the realities of the war) add a piece of artistic value.
