Summary/Abstract: Along with the changing of the Romanian monachist regime and coming the communists to power, the legislation needed to be brought up to Russian legal standards, from that respective period. As regards the legal regime of cults, this suffered radical transformations, according to the Stalinist model, aiming among other things, to replace by any means, the religion with the Marxist atheism. In this sense will take drastic measures, both in terms of enacting laws and their application. The purpose of this article is to present a comparative analysis of the legislation of cults from communist-era, namely the 1948 legislation and the legislation from the monarchist period, in which I will try to highlight the similarities and differences between them, and the effects that new laws had on society.
