Summary/Abstract: The Persian Gulf is considered to be as one of the most strategic points of the Middle East. Due to its geographical location, being one of the important transit routes of oil and energy resources, and political instability in the region, geopolitical characteristics of the Gulf are the important features that indicate to focus on the geopolitical importance of the Gulf region. In this context, the main purpose of this article is, within the framework of the geopolitical concept, to analyse the importance of Persian Gulf in terms of regional countries and to shed light on current debates. Due to increased power demonstration of the Gulf countries and the global powers as well it is important to draw attention on the Persian Gulf with an undebatable geopolitic importance of this region.
