Summary/Abstract: The fundamental objective of our research was to study the relationships between the degree of development of the cognitive abilities of the person with visual impairment and the degree of participation (capacity and performance) to the accessibility process, using TA. The overall cognitive learning abilities were evaluated in a sample of 90 visually impaired users of TA. We have come to the conclusion that the subjects of the experimental group have a good level of general learning ability, which recommends them to the use the computer – at professional and social level - as a pre-emptive form of employment. TA has led to new orientations and interests in the field of vocational training, with significant results in social and professional integration.
