Summary/Abstract: The European Union is nowadays one of the main economic and political organizations of the world; alongside with the development of this organization, the need for security and defense has increased. The European Union had to develop accordingly a defense and security system, alone or in cooperation with other states or organizations, in order to meet the threats against the European Union organizations and citizens.
