Summary/Abstract: In this study, it was aimed to develop a scale for measuring reading success. In this context, obtained expertise from 4 lecturer and 3 teachers to determining the scope validity of the scale. After the expert opinions, the draft scale which consisting of 26 questions was applied to 125 fourth grade students. After pre-pilot training, 2 questions were removed from the scale. Two half and Alpha Cronbach reliability analyzes were carried out to determine the reliability of the scale and in order to test the validity, item analyzes were carried out. As a result of the statistical analysis, Cronbach Alpha value was found as 0.87; Spearman-Brown coefficient was 0.85 and The Guttman Split Half coefficient is 0.85.In this context, it can be said that the reliability of scale is sufficient enough. The Tukey Nonadditivity value is p = 0.66. In this respect, the test is a collectable measure of the likert type in terms of options and scoring. Hotelling T value is significant (p<0.001). In this context, it can be said that the test is effective in measuring the “assesment of reading ability” phenomenon. In addition, the test can be regarded as a strong and specific test consisting of homogeneous questions. After item discrimination analysis 2 items and 2 items after item difficulty analysis were subtracted. After substance reliability 1 item subtracted and the final scale consisted of 20 questions.
