Summary/Abstract: (EC) Regulation no. 44 of the Council of 22 December 2000 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters shall be replaced, starting with 10 January 2015, by the (EU) Regulation no. 1215/2012 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters. The adoption of the new regulation, directly enforceable in the Member States, was carried out for the purpose of simplifying the procedures in the matter of forced execution, for the free movement of judgments passed in the Member States of the European Union.Based upon the adoption of the new provisions, certain internal provisions shall conflict with the supranational rule which, however, shall prevail, and the Member States shall be obliged to fulfill the obligations imposed by the regulation.
