TIME AS AN ELEMENT FOR DEFINITION OF THE CONTENTS AND CONTEXTS OF ARCHIVAL MATERIAL

Summary/Abstract: The author deals with the theoretical and practical problems of determining the date and time of archival material and in archival finding aids. In doing so, he draws attention to some problems according to the use of differentdate formats, the ways of their perception in parallel calendars and in proceduresfor migrating dates in the different processes of archival professional work. Inthis context, he especially highlights the requirements for systematic verificationand ensuring consistency of date’s strings. He highlights also requirements forstandardizing the capturing of dates and the clear definition of the start and end timepoints for defining time intervals.
