The idea of sacred in popular beliefs linked to baptism, marriage and funeral in the village of Bucerdea Vinoasă, the county of Alba

Summary/Abstract: The ortodox parish from Bucerdea Vinoasă keeps piously the Holy Sacraments and the religious ceremonies specific to the orthodox Christian world. Even if as concerns the Holy Sacraments of Baptism and Marriage, as well as the religious ceremony of the funeral there are certain popular beliefs, these do not encroach upon the idea of sacred. On the contrary, is simple terms and manifestations, these beliefs bring to the present the archaic element from ancient times. However, this archaic element is permanently referred to sacredness and to the teachings of the Orthodox Church. The priests have watched and are continuously watching so that no religious manifestation should be distorted and so that a balance should be established between the archaic and the orthodox teachings.
