Summary/Abstract: Informatisation of jobs in registers in the part of the application of modern technologies, records management is the reality of the 21st century and as such there is no alternative. An increasing number of registries introduces and applies various information programs, which aim to have easier and easier handling and record management. However, as this area is not adequately (or by no means) regulated by regulations, in practice we have very different approaches, to those who are completely wrong and harmful. Therefore, this paper deals with some basic theoretical as well as practical consideration of these issues and the problem of introducing information systems into registry offices. The paper focuses on the question of whether the archives are sufficiently familiar with the mentioned processes, whether they are following, whether they are consulted, whether they participate in the creation of the program, and to what extent? In Bosnia and Herzegovina, these processes take place, to a greater or lesser degree, independent of the archives, which is not good, because archives risk that all such information, records and records are permanently lost. Therefore, archives have the obligation and responsibility to monitor and keep records in place, regardless of their form. In doing so, the author authorizes the key role, but also the responsibility of the author. In this sense, archives need to be more actively involved in the initial creation process (programs, software), establishing adequate professional guidelines (define requirements and expectations) and monitoring over the introduction and implementation of computerization. In addition, the archives must also work on the creation of personnel and IT preconditions (in archives) for acquiring electronic records which is the ultimate, final goal.
