Summary/Abstract: This article pays attention to concept of culture in translatology. In comparison with understanding the culture in classical philology presented as a "high" culture, it presents the culture in the form of cultural presuppositions which adoption is a prerequisite for the successful realization of intercultural and transcultural communication.
