Summary/Abstract: In the contribution we base on statement of specificity and mystery as constitutive attributesof religious testimonies and we try to illustrate these attributes on functioning of lexeme čas(time) in different religious communiqués. We determine two types of structures: mal somťažký/tichý/dobrý čas and bol to požehnaný/dobrý/pokojný čas (pre mňa), which have asformal as semantic specifics in comparison with idioms of profane communication mať čas,ťažké časy, je najvyšší čas and so on. In both structures we identify rich and specificconnotative potential and reflex character. To the opposite pole, to the pole of semanticemptiness is also moving idiom požehnaný čas which appears the most often in the finalcontact phase of e-mail and short message texts.
