Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to get more consequent acquaintance with the famous contemporary thinker Emmanuel Levinas’s thought and the perspective of his challenge, mainly by confronting two books of Levinas, belonging to different periods of his creative activity. Born in Lithuania, Levinas tried to translate the message of Judaism and of Holy Scripture into philosophical language. That’s why the listening of the Law is interwoven with the thought, especially considering the founding human experiences: the time, the death, the Other. The Time also reveals the Other.
