Summary/Abstract: Premature ejaculation is the most common sexual dysfunction among men. Its etiology, however, is still not fully understood, especially in mental context of this disorder. The aim of this study was to capture the personality characteristics of men with premature ejaculation. The study covered seventeen men treated for this disorder. The studies failed to show specific personality traits of these men in terms of any of the five major dimensions of personality or anxiety understood as both as state and trait. Nonetheless, a strong negative relationship between extraversion and anxiety was observed. Considering a dynamic aspect – the study of men with premature ejaculation showed that they have more intense need to comply with the others, and lessened need of autonomy. These men were also characterized by greater sensitivity to recognition on the part of women, but only in two aspects: a sense that women require them to implement a specific model of masculinity and a grater fear of negative evaluation from their partners in the absence of sexual satisfaction.
