Summary/Abstract: The aim of investigation is to acquire a society of medical workers with main stages of scientific activities of V. P. Denysenko, Associate Professor of Department of General Chemistry performed during her work in Chernivtsi Medical Institute in 1951–1974, which was crowned by invention of a new medicine “Aethonium” and its introduction into regular practice. Methods of investigation are such: historical, biographic and systematic approaches. Scientific novelty. This paper deals with scientific activities of Associate Professor of Department of General Chemistry V. P. Denysenko spent during 1951–1974 and gives a brief description of her significant findings and achievements in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry. An importance of her results in the field of targeted organic synthesis of bioactive compounds is discussed. More than 50 compounds with potential pharmaceutical activity were synthesized during comparatively short period of time while one of them has been recognized as a medicine and introduced into regular therapeutic practice as “Aethonium”. Conclusions. Valentyna Petrivna Denysenko has synthesized some members of the quaternary and double quaternary compounds family, which exhibit some pharmaceutical activity and are still used regularly in therapy. This result has made a worthy contribution into prominent history of the Institute.
