Summary/Abstract: Nikita Ia. Bichurin (Iakinf), Friedrich Hirth, Vsevolod S. Taskin and some other scientists have come out for the assumption identifying Shaniui of Gunns (Khunnu, Sünnu) as Mode (Maodun, 234–174 BC) in the Chinese annals with the Oghuz-khan from «Family tree of the Turkmens» and other, earlier “Oghuz-name”. The author of this article has compared subject lines about the marriage of Mode (Oghuz-khan) in these written monuments and has come to conclusion about their main ancient source, though on canon of a genre they have undergone subsequent alterations.
