Semiotic Aspects of the Original Puppet Production for Children on Television

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the original television puppet production for children in Slovakia, through the description of characters structure, based on the theoretical knowledge of linguistics, literary science and theatrology, as well as the TV script writers, who have been writing texts for television for several decades. The second part of the paper is devoted to the analysis of the narrative structure of selected titles from the beginnings of the TV broadcasting in Slovakia, with respect to the genre diversity, such as puppet opera, puppet series and puppet drama. The results of the analysis prove the gnomic character of the content of selected texts and their contribution to the present-day generation of children's audience.
