Summary/Abstract: The review by D. Karvelis, E. Burbaitė and R. Ringytė, concerning “Once More About the Third of May Constitution” (Istorija / History, 2008, no 72, p. 104 – 108), about the scientific conference dedicated to the Third of May Constitution contains some inaccuracies while presenting the participants’ ideas and discussions on the issue. According to dr. L. Glemża, the issue of the independence and statehood of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the context of the Four year Seimas reforms received attention much later, i.e. when professional Lithuanian historiography came into existence. This issue was raised by A. Šapoka whose attitude towards the Third of May Constitution underwent gradual evolution: from more critical evaluation to more moderate views. Though during the above mentioned period the Republic turned to centralization and legal unification and Lithuania’s statehood, in a way, diminished, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as a political, territorial and legal subject remained.
