Analysis of the use of organizational and legal frame of inter-municipal cooperation – regional approach

Summary/Abstract: This article presents some of the findings of a research project concerning intermunicipal co-operation in Poland. The aim of this paper is investigate the usage the organizational and legal frame of inter-municipality cooperation in the provision of public services. A comparative analysis shows that inter-municipal co-operation comes in all shapes and sizes. Research shows that the joint authority, communal associations, agreements between authorities, and limited companies are used in varying degrees, taking into account the various types of public services. These data on this topic are summarized in the form of comparisons between voivodeships.
