Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of preliminary studies conducted among the production companies staff, introducing continuous improvement. The article attempts to answer the question if an convergence between organisational culture of production company, which seeks to introduce continuous improvement, and kaizen culture, exists. The kaizen culture was defined by key characteristics as well as artefacts and behaviors related to it. The author takes the definition of culture by Edgar Schein. It can be concluded, that the desire and the drive to implementation of kaizen culture in such companies is a standard. The major problem is the lack of employee engagement when the company experiences insufficient workload, which may be an instance of kaizen culture awareness deficit among leaders. The lack of understanding of the purpose of changes among staff may constitute the main problem and barrier while implementing the kaizen culture.
