Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of preliminary studies related to the expectations of thestudents of Polish economic universities in the field of innovation in the study program. Expectationsof first year students of bachelor studies are compared with the opinion of thirdyear students of bachelor studies regarding fulfillment of these expectations. A comparativeanalysis shows that between expectations and execution there is a clear gap. The authorstake the definition of innovation by Schumpeter and indicate that the creation of innovativeattitudes of students of Polish economic universities is important for the success of the studentsthemselves in the labor market, and for the success of the Polish economy.
