Summary/Abstract: Ten selected works (novels, novellas, short stories and fairy-tales written by specific authors) of the contemporary writers for children were used to discuss the reflections of oral literature — from the standpoint of its spreading, typology, esthetic and educational function. The nature of the paper required to view this problem in a broader context, too, outside the framework of its every individual part, therefore in the field of the mutual relations between two different corpora of literary works: oral literature and literature for children. Moreover, it was necessary to view the genre merging, that is the relation between the oral and written texts.
