Summary/Abstract: The author discusses the basic characteristics of the lyrical-philosophical understanding of existence in the poetic work of Lucian Blaga. The fundamental element is the mystery as a deep plain of existence. On the other hand, the existance is made of numerous ontological layers which culminate in the divine whole. Man is constantly attracted by the mysteries in his eternal and futile wish to discover them. One of those searching quests includes the link between the poetic and philosophical thought.
