Summary/Abstract: Marriage is important to not only the married people but also societies within which they are living in traditional societies. Marriage providing to be raised generations that would make possible continuation of existence of society is in the position of an important social work. For this reason, the marriage was carried out accompanied with a ceremony and the married people were accepted in the capacity of “equal” and “mature” people into the society which is constituted by other “equal” and “mature” people, in company with “reproduction” and “plentifulness” oriented rituals. It is not possible for the marriage, which is of a vital importance in being able to protect and to sustain social life, to stay out of narrationof origin myths. Mythological consciousness regarding the marriage as the most important institution of the culture tried also to explain the origin or emergence of the marriage, as it was in examples of a lot of other institutions and behaviours.
