Summary/Abstract: On the basis of findings resulting from the use of appropriate theoretical instruments – namely covert participant observation and non-category interviews – the author outlines the nature of the work of the librarian in the school library in Urszulin, a village which is located 60 km northeast of Lublin and which is the municipal seat of the Włodawa district.
