Summary/Abstract: The theoretician Adrian Marino has tried to offer a real theorywhich should explain the entire system of comparative literature. The authoraimed to articulate a genuine poetics in order to revigorate this researchfield. Therefore, Adrian Marino becomes the promoter of the idea ofWeltliteratur and proposes a new theoretical concept, that of literaryinvariant, meant to lend a fresh analytical perspective to comparativeliterature. The author strongly believes that the hermeneutic perspective canfacilitate a more appropriate interpretation of this field / system, both as ahomogeneous whole and as a sum of the component parts, choosing toemphasize the congruent aspects of the world’s literatures instead of thedivergent ones.
