Summary/Abstract: This text is an attempt to materialize an idea describing the way Goran Petrovic acknowledges the tendency to transcend the beauty, linguistically articulated by the finest capacity of his inner core, onto the essential level that breathes the meaning into the spiritual and religious quest of a living individual. Hence the desire to demonstrate the author’s strain towards the perfect expression – worthy of the perfection of art itself – in his novels „Opsada crkve Svetog Spasa“ and „Ispod tavanice koja se ljulja“, as well as in tales „Bliznji“, „Iznad pet trosnjih saksija“ and „Bogorodica I druga vidjenja“ where he offers a model, a parallel aspect of the form of a perfect life. And that is a life in a union with God. By finding the inner meaningful relations between the literature and religion, Petrovic uses his imagination, as the fundament of his creative process, to realize his spiritual mission, parallel to the one which emerges from the imperative of the Christian religion – theurgical announcement of human self-knowledge and self--understanding. Through the modern art from which he drains his motivational power and cultural platform that bears his artistic expression, the author envisions the possibility for redemption of the fallen society and a method for bringing the order back into remaining debris of the world.
