Summary/Abstract: The author analyze the book of I. I. Sreznevsky of sanctuaries and rituals of pagan Slavs (St. Petersburg, 1848, in Kharkov, Thesis 1846), historical, lexicographical and folk sources, and their authenticity, the names and properties of the sanctuaries. The effect of fraud (particularly of Vaclav Hanka) to view of Sreznevsky, Common Slavonic and regional features, contribution to the knowledge of ritual culture of the ancient Slavs and the fate of books in history of slavististics.
