Summary/Abstract: A special affection for music strongly determined both personal and professional biographies of the members of the Nastasijević family, primarily of Momčilo and Sve- tozar. His own and, at the same time, “Nastasijević” poetic system was announced by the poet in a program text published alongside the drama Međuluško blago (The Treasure of Međulužje), which he imagined to be a literary, stage and music project in which Sve- tozar would have his composing share. The basic idea is found in the prologue to the said drama, which was developed by Momčilo in his numerous essays, where he explicitly stated many times his belief in the superiority of music above all other art forms. Following his older brother, who was an irreplaceable role model, Svetozar tried to argument his attitudes on the dominant position of music among other art forms in his text Music as a general phenomenon among arts. The paper presents the main elements on the basis of which Momčilo and Svetozar founded their defense of the sublimation of the phenomenon of music, but which at the same time contain their critically appraised attitudes. Namely, it indicates the lack of the explanation of the perseity of music which makes their poetic discourse aesthetically indifferent. In addition, it presents the reasons due to which their consideration of the phenomenon of music can be termed as an emotionalistic theory.
