THE CROATIAN QUESTION IN STOJAN NOVAKOVIĆ’S HISTORY OF SERBIAN LITERATURE

Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes Stojan Novaković‘s approach to the Croatian question in two editions of his History of Serbian Literature (1867, 1871) and the role that question had in his later work on literary history. The paper especially follows Novaković’s relation to Vatroslav Jagić’s opinion on relations between Serbs and Croats, in context of politics in the Habsburg Monarchy in the 60’s and 70’s of XIX century.
