Summary/Abstract: Blacksmithing and handmade knife making are a traditional art which its raw material is a mine. This art based on heating iron mine and processing and formatting it with the help of simple hand tools. In historical process iron mine used in daily life as producing different tools. But it especially used in the construction of weapons. Blacksmithing is a quite ancient art of Turks. In history iron mine is highly respected and regarded as sacred by Turks. In many legends and literary belongs to Turks, Blacksmith and blacksmithing located in many parts. In Ergenekon Epic, Turks seeking a way to exit from Ergenekon Mountain and they were able to get out with help of a blacksmith who melted the iron mountain. The main places where blacksmith art alive with traditional techniques and methods in Antalya are Muratpaşa County (Blacksmith Market- Demircileriçi), İbradı County- Ormana Village and Elmalı County. Today there are two blacksmiths living in Ormana. However, we know that in past blacksmithing exercised by a large occupational group. Major reason for the decline of this profession is contraction of the market and finding an apprentice. Blacksmithing is a profession has transferred to the present with master – apprentice relationship. This work usually transmitted from father to son. Blacksmith who started to work in childhood time as an apprentice will mature in time and become a master. Educational process, rather than writing materials base on observation, hearing and practice. Apprentice has to watch and practice everything. Just like in other traditional professions balcksmithing also has a Pir- Patriarch. Prophet David is the patriarch of this profession according to believe that he beat iron with his fists and he was also the person who invented the blacksmith barnacles. The main instruments used to process in blacksmithing are: Blacksmith bench- Dezgah, Forge, Blacksmith Bellows, Clamps, Tongs, Blacksmith Anvil, Hammer, Sledge, Scissors, Water Container, Vices, Rasp.
